Celebrate the Arts in Tazewell County through Fourth Fridays – the Tazewell Art Loop sponsored by the Morton and Pekin Chambers of Commerce and the Tremont and Delavan communities! Between May and November the community is invited to enjoy fun, shop local experiences in Morton, Tremont, Delavan, and Pekin on the Fourth Friday of every month. From 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, artists, businesses and organizations will be partnering to create a dynamic shopping experiences for all. You will enjoylocal art, mingle with the artists, view featured exhibits, take in performance demonstrations, hear live music and entertainment, explore local shops and restaurants and so much more. HYDRANT FLUSHING

Village of Morton employees will begin the semi-annual hydrant flushing program starting on Sunday, September 24, 2017, weather permitting.  Flushing operations will be conducted between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM daily (Mon. through Fri.), and between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM nightly (except Fri. and Sat.).  Flushing of the entire system should be completed in approximately six weeks.  Residents in affected areas may notice a brief drop in water pressure, as well as some discoloration of the water.  Daily information regarding flushing patterns may be found on Comcast channel 22, iTV-3 channel 23, and www.morton-il.gov.

MCB Annual Free Community Shred Day

Clean out and safely dispose of paper documents. A Community Shred Day will be held from 9-11am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in the west end parking lot of Morton Community Bank's Main Bank, 721 W. Jackson St. Up to 5 boxes per vehicle will be accepted. Items accepted include paper items (personal, legal, medical, bank), junk mail, credit cards, folders, magazines. (Paperclips, rubber bands & staples are okay) This public service is provided free of charge by the Bank and AAA Certified Confidential Security Corp. Morton Library Show Your Card Promotion

Begins September 1, ends September 30.

September is National Library Card Sign Up Month and in order to both promote the value of the library card and reward our library card holders the Morton Public Library has partnered with 11 Morton businesses for a "Show your Card" promotion.
