Triangle of Opportunity Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the $500 annual Triangle of Opportunity Scholarship. To obtain a scholarship form, 2015 graduating seniors should contact the counselor's office at their high school or check with the superintendent's office. In February, the scholarship form will be available on line at www.triangleofopportunity.info

Students from the following high schools are eligible to apply for the scholarship: Dee-Mack HS, Eureka HS, Morton HS, Olympia HS and Tremont HS.

The deadline to apply for the TOO Scholarship is March 14, 2015. This is the fifth year the Triangle of Opportunity will be awarding a scholarship to a deserving graduate.

Breakfest Panini's
Great Harvest Bread

Great Harvest Bread has started new breakfast panini's. There are two options:
Bacon Egg and Cheese with Garlic Herb Spread
Ham Egg and Cheese with Garlic Herb Spread
. We offer these Panini's from 7-10:30 everyday, Monday-Saturday. They are made fresh everyday!

Please make plans to attend the second School Board candidate forum on March 24 at 7pm. This forum will be held at Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center, Morton (behind the Morton High School) and will give the seven candidates vying for three seats on the board the opportunity to answer questions and discuss the important and controversial issues that face our Morton school district. . Responsible voters are informed voters. Please mark this date on your calendar and hear what the candidates have to say regarding the future of your Morton School District as we prepare for the April 7th elections.


Easter Egg Hunt
The Morton Villa HealthCare and Rehabilitation Centre
190 E. Queenwood is hosting their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 29th
1:30 to 1:45 pm for ages 2-5
1:45 to 2:00 pm for ages 6-10
They will have pictures with the Easter Bunny,
Miniature horses and fun!
The event is free for the community!

2nd Annual Morton
Community Garage Sale

The Morton Tourism Association is accepting donations for the 2nd Annual Community Garage Sale to be held at Lincoln School on April 24th and 25th. The purpose of the sale is to raise money to replace the Christmas decorations that are over 10 years old and need to be replaced. If you have gently used items that you are willing to donate you can bring them to the tourism office at 200 S. First Ave anytime now through April 23rd. The office is open from 9am-1pm on Mon, Tue, Wed, and Fri. Large items should be delivered to the school on April 24th at 3pm. If you need to make arrangements to have something delivered at a special time, or picked up, call Susan Pyles at 573-1276. If you need additional information, the tourism office number is 266-5153

The Morton Tourism Association has Morton Tunnel travel mugs, short & long Sleeve T-Shirts for sale. The 18 oz. travel mug is $15 and short sleeve t-shirts are $20 and long sleeve are $25. These can be shipped for an additional $2. We now have long sleeve Morton Tunnel T-shirts in children's sizes for sale for $20.
